In the meantime, there's 2 possible fixes I'm aware of:
1. Can you try removing the Chromecast device from your device settings in Windows and letting Windows recreate the device?
- Go to Settings.
- Click devices and look for the name of your Chromecast.
- If you can see the name of your Chromecast, click it and remove device.
- Re-add Chromecast if detected and add it as a media device.
- Open Chrome browser and attempt to cast.
2. Can you reinstall the Videostream Chrome app as a workaround? First remove Videostream from your device.
Here is a set of instructions on how to correctly uninstall Videostream/programs from your computer:
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/uninstall-programs-windows-10
Sometimes the uninstall process leaves some stragglers and causes some issues like yours to arise. Can you try navigating to these folders and deleting them?
- c:\users\xxx\appdata\local\videostream
- c:\users\xxx\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\videostream
Then, reboot your computer, after you do that, download it again from here: https://getvideostream.com/download/#
Hope these work!
